The Money Mindsets quiz

This 20-question quiz identifies your employees’ unique money personalities and provides easy-to-understand financial knowledge and recommendations.

Financial wellness programs are broken

The traditional focus on financial wellness, which was almost exclusively around the 401(k) plan, is just not sufficient anymore. Our employees are asking for help with all aspects of their financial life.

How the quiz helps

  • Identifies employee spending personalities

  • Offers tailored financial education and tools to improve saving and spending

  • Endorsed by leading academics in psychology, economics and behavioral finance

  • Topics based on interviews with a wide variety of employees across the industries we serve

  • Increases ZayZoon adoption and enables employers to actively decrease employee financial stress

With Money Mindsets, workers get a clear picture of what they’re great at—and where they struggle—when it comes to managing money.

Based on their answers, employees receive their spending personality, which includes:

  • Financial strengths, ideal collaborators, areas for growth and how to work through them

  • A personalized financial toolkit with actionable insights and tools, such as budgeting strategies and savings tools, tailored to employee needs

Quiz submissions

With Typeform, we were able to track quiz completions and collect user data. We used completions as a proxy for brand awareness using the logic that the more people who took the quiz, the more who knew about our brand. We also used completions to measure product usage.

The objectives

ZayZoon signups

We integrated Typeform data into our product and, using a script, could determine users who took the quiz and ultimately signed up for ZayZoon. To start, Money Mindsets was intended as an acquisition vehicle for our product.

ZayZoon payouts

Finally, we could see exactly how many Money Mindsets-acquired customers had requested payouts via our app. Since payouts are the primary source of revenue, we were able to build out a full funnel that showcased Money Mindsets attribution.

The distribution plan

  • We sent an email introducing Money Mindsets to all in-ecosystem employees who hadn’t signed up for ZayZoon yet. We had a 65% open rate on this first touch. Next, we segmented all Money Mindset users who hadn’t signed up for ZayZoon and created a nature for each mindset, with the purpose of driving them to signup.

  • We supported the Money Mindsets launch with an optimized blog and leveraged our home and employee page with banners, all driving traffic to the quiz. We provided ongoing social support via our organic accounts and advocacy program.

  • Using Meta and our list of in-ecosystem employees who had yet to sign up for ZayZoon, we deployed a series of engaging social ads, including video. We also issued a press release on launch day and received pickup in HR Tech Series (to be published).

  • We worked with client success to update their onboarding flow with Money Mindsets assets, so that they could inform their employees and drive adoption upon launch of ZayZoon.

  • We created campaigns in the box and hosted webinars educating our payroll partners and their clients about Money Mindsets to increase adoption and drive ZayZoon signups.
